Synopsis:

The narrative centers on Kaalidhar, a middle-aged man suffering from memory loss and a feeling of abandonment. His family plans to leave him behind during a religious pilgrimage, a discovery that prompts Kaalidhar to leave on his own accord [1][2]. During his journey, he meets Ballu, an 8-year-old orphan boy who was also abandoned early in life and survives by doing odd jobs. Ballu is street-smart and has some basic education learned from a compassionate teacher [2][4].

Together, the unlikely pair forges a deep bond and embarks on a road trip across India aimed at ticking off items from Kaalidhar’s bucket list. This list includes simple yet meaningful desires such as enjoying a lifetime supply of biryani (Kaalidhar's favorite dish), acting, riding a bike, wearing a suit, dancing in a wedding procession (baraat), trying English alcohol, and meeting his first love, Meera [3].

The film explores themes of friendship, rediscovery, and finding purpose and joy even amid loss and abandonment. The relationship between Kaalidhar and Ballu is the emotional core of the story, reflecting how both find a sense of family and belonging with each other.

Movie Review:

The film offers a gripping narrative with intense performances, particularly by Abhishek Bachchan, who delivers a nuanced portrayal filled with depth and emotion. Daivik Baghela and Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub complement the lead effectively, adding layers to the storyline with their compelling acting. The direction maintains a steady pace, skillfully blending suspense and drama to keep the audience engaged throughout. Cinematography stands out, capturing both the gritty and subtle moments with equal finesse. The soundtrack supports the mood well without overpowering the scenes. While some plot points may feel slightly predictable, the strong character development and powerful dialogues compensate for this, making it a worthwhile watch. Overall, it is a well-crafted film that balances entertainment with meaningful storytelling, leaving viewers reflective long after the credits roll.
