Director: Krish Jagarlamudi
Genre: Action, Crime, Drama, Thriller
Play time: 02:34:29

Synopsis:

Sheelavathi is a bus conductor who, with her childhood sweetheart Desi Raju, becomes entangled in the dangerous world of the cannabis trade on the Andhra-Odisha border to escape crippling debt and the control of local crime lords. Her rise to power and fight for independence against the exploiting Naidu brothers earns her the title "Ghaati Queen"

Movie Review:

Set in the dusty hinterlands and glitzy cities of modern India, a fierce feudal matriarch rules with cunning and charisma, her life split between public power and private scars. Born into a lineage of warriors and strategists, she inherits a sprawling estate and the title that binds loyalty and fear. Her beauty is matched only by her intelligence; she reads men and politics with the precision of a chess master and uses both to protect her family's legacy. But beneath the poise simmer memories of betrayal that hardened her heart and forged the unshakeable resolve that defines her.

A principled young inspector arrives from the city, determined to expose a web of corruption tied to land-grabs and disappearances. He is upright but human—haunted by his own past failures and driven by a belief that justice must be blind to stature. His investigations bring him dangerously close to the matriarch’s affairs, triggering a tense duel of wills. Initially adversarial, their confrontations reveal unexpected depths: respect, attraction, and a slow, tentative understanding that neither power nor righteousness is absolute.

Caught in the storm is a talented local activist and journalist, energetic and idealistic, who once idolized the matriarch as a defender of the people. Now disillusioned, he seeks truth through grassroots organizing and exposes. His bond with the inspector is both professional and fraternal; together they navigate the perilous overlap of law, media, and traditional influence. Torn between reverence for the past and hunger for reform, he must choose where his loyalties truly lie.

As the investigation peels back layers of old alliances, hidden romances, and blood debts, long-buried secrets surface—an old assassination, a clandestine pact, and a child whose existence was erased to secure power. Loyalties shift, and each character confronts the costs of ambition and the price of redemption. The matriarch’s calculated maneuvers begin to falter when confronted by undeniable human truths: love, remorse, and the possibility of change.

The climax converges at a dramatic public hearing where legal, moral, and personal reckonings collide. High-octane confrontations, emotional revelations, and moral dilemmas propel the story toward an ending that balances retribution with compassion. Characters who began as enemies find unexpected common ground; some sacrifices are paid in full, others in part. The final act delivers catharsis while questioning whether power corrupted by secrecy can ever be cleansed, and whether a single woman—flawed, formidable, and human—can heal both the wounds she inherited and those she inflicted.
