So the story kicks off in this classic, moody setup typical of modern hindi movies where Dhanush plays this super intense, brooding guy who falls completely and hopelessly in love with Kriti Sanon's character, and she's just living her life, walking through college corridors wearing this one specific shade of neon green dupatta that honestly looks like it was bought from a clearance bin in 2012, and he's just staring at her with these giant, unblinking eyes that make you feel like you need a restraining order just watching from the third row.

And then boom, they’re suddenly thrown into this whirlwind romance that doesn't make any chronological sense because scenes are just smashing into each other with zero breathing room, and before you can even process their first real conversation, they are breaking out into a massive, heavily choreographed dance number in the middle of a crowded Delhi marketplace where background extras are aggressively throwing yellow marigold petals at the camera while wearing matching turquoise vests.

Things get really dark and messy very fast, and in a single rushed sequence that glosses over about three years of trauma and legal battles, Dhanush gets expelled, loses his family business, grows this wild, scraggly beard that takes up half his face, and starts working at a shady local garage just to stay close to the memories.

Kriti comes back to town for a high-profile wedding, looking completely unfazed by the absolute wreckage she left behind in this man's psyche, and she bumps into him right outside a local chemist shop while buying throat lozenges.

They have this huge, screaming match in the pouring rain where neither of them makes any logical sense, and she yells that line about how love isn't supposed to burn you alive right before she slaps him across the face so hard you can actually hear the acoustic echo bounce off the theater walls.
