Kaalidas is running through a wet Chennai alley while screaming into a walkie-talkie because his suspect just threw a frozen fish at his windshield and honestly it is the most chaotic thing you'll ever see in a neo-noir thriller, wait, let me back up a second, because before we get to the fish throwing, we need to talk about how this movie fits into the broader universe of gritty investigative cinema, though if you ask me, it doesn't really feel like your typical polished bolly wood fare or standard hindi films at all since it leans way harder into raw, messy Tamil-style cop drama energy that somehow still gets looped into casual searches for hindi movies on streaming platforms.

Bharath is playing this exhausted, perpetually stressed-out cop who's dealing with a crumbling marriage to his wife played by Sangita Madhavan Nair, and she's constantly rolling her eyes at him because he's obsessed with his job, and then out of nowhere, right when they are trying to fix things over a very tense dinner where nobody is eating their idlis, boom, a mysterious murder happens across town involving a serial killer who leaves strange symbolic clues at every single crime scene.

And then stuff happens so fast your head spins, like, Bhavani Sre shows up as this super sharp investigative partner or linked civilian who has her own sketchy backstory involving local gangs, and Ajay Karthi pops in to add a whole layer of psychological dread, and they're all running around chasing false leads, interviewing sketchy eyewitnesses who only talk in riddles, and staring intensely at computer screens displaying badly photoshopped crime scene evidence.

Look, I have to pause right here and complain about this one specific background extra during the police station interrogation scene who is wearing the most hideous neon green sweater with yellow polka dots that literally distracts you from every single serious dialogue exchange happening in the foreground, and then right after that visual distraction, bang, a major plot twist drops where the primary suspect jumps off a three-story parking garage and dies instantly, completely destroying all their leads in half a second.

We hit the interval point right after a totally random, shoehorned romantic flashback song sequence that comes out of nowhere and makes zero narrative sense given that the main characters were literally just looking at a severed finger two minutes prior, but hey, that's just how cinema works sometimes, and honestly, the interval block leaves you hanging because Bharath finds a bloody polaroid of his own house tucked inside a case file.

The second half turns into a frantic race against the clock where Bharath has to interrogate suspects while dodging internal affairs officers who think he's the actual killer, and the killer starts calling him on a landline phone leaving creepy voice messages about sins and redemption, and Sangita Madhavan Nair gets kidnapped and tied to a chair in an abandoned brick factory.

Everything converges on that rainy warehouse where the killer is waiting with a rusty pipe and a manic grin, and Bharath kicks the wooden door off its hinges, dives over a stack of old tires, takes a heavy blow to the shoulder, and manages to tackle the culprit through a glass window just as backup sirens finally wail in the distance.
