Nandamuri Balakrishna is literally swinging a massive trishul while roaring at Saswata Chatterjee in a foggy forest filled with terrified henchmen and completely on fire! Look, Akhanda 2 isn't trying to be subtle at all and honestly, if you've seen other south and bollywood movies, you already know we are in for a wild, ear-splitting ride of pure mass cinema chaos that doesn't care about your eardrums.

Anyway, before we get to that flaming forest fight, let's back up because this whole mess starts when Aadhi Pinisetty plays this intense corporate villain type who is trying to destroy an ancient temple town for some shady industrial project involving rare minerals, and he's just walking around boardrooms looking menacing while wearing the most outrageously shiny silk shirts you've ever seen in modern cinema.

And then Samyuktha Menon shows up as a righteous archaeologist trying to stop him, but she gets trapped in a really tight spot, and Harshaali Malhotra is also wandering around in these emotional flashback sequences that honestly slow the pacing down a bit too much right when things are getting good, but whatever, because Viji Chandrasekhar and Sangay Tsheltrim pop up as fierce local tribal defenders who refuse to hand over their sacred lands without a massive, bone-crunching brawl.

Stuff happens so fast that it's genuinely hard to keep track, like characters just teleporting into fight scenes and explosions happening for literally no reason except to wake people up from eating their popcorn.

Right in the middle of all this ancient curse lore and corporate greed, we hit the interval block where Balakrishna stares intensely into the camera while a random, wildly upbeat dance number suddenly starts playing out of nowhere with backup dancers in neon outfits standing right next to ancient ruins, which is a classic quirk of commercial hindi films and bollywood movies that never fails to make you laugh out loud.

God, that song sequence was so out of place.

After the intermission, things get insanely dark because Aadhi's character actually manages to capture the village elders, and Saswata Chatterjee plays this creepy, giggling henchman who is obsessed with ancient weaponry and won't stop twirling a tiny dagger while talking about destroying the temple's inner sanctum.

And then boom, the titular Aghori character played by Balakrishna finally makes his grand entrance out of a massive cloud of sacred ash, walking in slow motion with his eyes completely glowing white while lightning strikes every single time he takes a step forward.

He just looks at the screen and yells, Dharma will destroy you, before absolutely obliterating fifty stuntmen in one single, incredibly long unbroken wide shot that makes you wonder how many ribs were cracked on set.

The plot races forward through a blur of CGI fire and slow-motion sword swings where Sangay Tsheltrim gets a really cool martial arts showcase against the corporate guards, and Samyuktha Menon uncovers a glowing ancient manuscript that explains why the bad guys can't actually kill the divine protector.

Aadhi Pinisetty tries to shoot a rocket launcher at the temple doors, but Balakrishna catches the missile with his bare hands, crushes it into tiny pieces, and stares him down with so much intensity that the villain practically wets his shiny silk shirt right there on the spot.

The final showdown takes place on top of a crumbling cliff during a torrential thunderstorm where Balakrishna swings the flaming trishul through the air, decapitates Saswata Chatterjee's character in one brutally fast motion, and kicks Aadhi Pinisetty off the edge of the cliff into a roaring waterfall below.
