Arjun Rampal is casually choking a double agent with a rusty telephone wire while a totally hideous yellow knitted sweater worn by a random background waiter in a dusty Karachi safehouse just keeps vibrating on screen for three solid minutes like it's trying to escape the frame on its own. Dhurandhar is wild, honestly.

Let's back up because this whole mess starts way before the cord-strangling stuff. Ranveer Singh plays this raw, chaotic undercover operative who's drinking chai and dodging bullets in some narrow alleys, and his handler, played by Sanjay Dutt with a massive grey beard that looks glued on with craft glue, tells him to cross the border.

Bollywood movies love a good patriotic pep talk, but here it's just Sanjay shouting smoke-filled dialogue about national security while eating peanuts.

R. Madhavan enters around minute twenty looking entirely too sharp in a crisp blazer, playing the cold-calculating bureaucrat who sits in an air-conditioned room in Delhi plotting geopolitical chess moves, except he's always tapping his expensive pen against a porcelain mug. Akshaye Khanna shows up too, chewing the scenery as a rogue intelligence asset who hates following protocol and probably hasn't slept since 2014, and he's got this twitchy smirk that makes you wonder if he's actually working for the bad guys or just really stressed out by his dry-cleaning bills.

So our boy Ranveer slips into foreign territory, changes into a leather jacket that costs more than a small car, and starts infiltrating this high-level syndicate led by arms dealers who love throwing sketchy rooftop parties.

And then boom, right as Ranveer is about to steal a flash drive containing nuclear launch codes from a heavily guarded vault, the movie completely grinds to a halt to drop a massive item-number song and dance sequence featuring twenty backup dancers in neon tracksuits shaking it right next to a pile of AK-47s.

Hindi movies do this all the time, completely killing the tension just to make sure the audio album sells on streaming apps.

You're sitting there clutching your popcorn thinking someone is about to get shot in the face, and suddenly Ranveer is pelvic-thrusting against a shipping container in slow motion while wearing mirrored sunglasses.

Once that weird musical detour finishes, the plot speeds up so fast you'll get whiplash because Akshaye Khanna suddenly betrays the team, blows up a bridge, kidnaps Sanjay Dutt's nephew, and shoots three informants in a single unbroken wide shot without even blinking.

Which brings us right to the interval block where the screen just goes black with a deafening bass drop while Ranveer is suspended upside down from a crane over a pit of burning oil drums.

People are eating samosas in the lobby during the break complaining about the runtime, but honestly the second half is where the real chaos unfolds because Madhavan finally leaves his desk, flies into the warzone in a cargo plane, and starts kicking down doors with a heavy assault rifle like he's auditioning for a completely different franchise.

Stuff happens so fast now that characters are dying left and right without any emotional breathing room.

Akshaye's character gets cornered in an abandoned brick factory by Arjun Rampal, and they have this brutal, exhausting hand-to-hand fight using broken pipes and shattered ceramic tiles until Arjun just snaps his neck against a concrete pillar.

Ranveer finds the main server room, plugs in the decryption key while bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound in his shoulder, and uploads the incriminating files to every news station across the subcontinent just as the military jet bombs the entire compound into dust.

The final shot shows Ranveer walking away in slow motion from the massive fiery explosion, tossing his bloodstained ID badge into the dirt and hopping onto a crowded local bus without looking back once.
