Synopsis:
Allu Arjun is literally holding a giant axe and screaming at a massive crowd of terrified goons while red powder flies everywhere and his shirt is totally ripped to shreds. Look, let us just back up a second because Pushpa: The Rule - Part 2 is an absolute rollercoaster and I still cannot process half the things that happened on screen. Honestly, if you watched the first one, you know he plays this smooth-talking, fierce red sandalwood smuggler who started from the absolute bottom, and now in this sequel starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, he is running the whole syndicate and making millions. But things get messy fast.
Stuff happens and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by Fahadh Faasil with this terrifyingly calm and psychotic energy, is back with a massive vengeance because Pushpa literally humiliated him in the last film by making him sit naked at a police station. And then boom, Shekhawat is hunting him down across state borders, and their rivalry takes over the entire plot. But right in the middle of this insanely tense standoff where cops are surrounding the warehouse, the movie just pauses for a massive song and dance number featuring Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, which is typical for big bollywood movies since directors just love throwing a catchy item track at you when people are about to die. I mean, Srivalli is wearing this blindingly neon blue saree with fringe that kept distracting me every time she spun around, and I swear one of the background dancers in the third row was eating a snack between takes. God, it was so weird.
And then bang, we are back to the bloody action. Srivalli gets kidnapped by Shekhawat to force Pushpa out into the open, and Pushpa loses his absolute mind, going on a total rampage that leads straight to the infamous interval point. The interval block is wild because Pushpa walks right into the police headquarters alone, drops his weapons, and dares Shekhawat to kill him right there, leaving the whole theatre screaming.
Things get even crazier in the second half. Pushpa escapes custody using some ridiculous stunt involving a crane and a truck full of red sandalwood logs, and he officially declares war on the international smuggling rings that want to undercut his monopoly. Rashmika Mandanna has this heartbreaking crying scene where she begs him to stop the violence, but he's too far gone and his ego is way too massive now. Shekhawat tracks him down to the riverbank for the final showdown, and they have this brutal, mud-soaked fistfight where nobody is holding back. And then Fahadh Faasil's character gets cornered, and Pushpa delivers the final blow with a heavy iron pipe right before the cops flood the area and arrest everyone. Pushpa is dragged away into the back of a police van, bruised, bleeding, and staring straight into the camera with that exact same arrogant smirk.
